Just like us humans, following injury and during recovery, our dogs exercise level and ability decreases which causes their muscles to lose strength and tone due to the amount of inactivity. Once the rest period is over it is vital to rebuild muscle very carefully to ensure a complete recovery and avoid jeopardising their previous veterinary treatment. We have the knowledge and training to provide a bespoke recovery programme. We have a heated pool to provide a relaxing and therapeutic environment. Warm water acts to relax muscles by increasing skin temperature which reduces pain and muscle spasm. Hydrostatic pressure property of water also works to alleviate swelling by encouraging bodily fluid movement away from the affected area. Our pool provides: - Ample space for large breeds to have an effective swim. - Heated to 29 – 30c - Excellent water sanitation and quality - We have a ground-level walk-in ramp that has been specifically designed to allow for easy exit and entry. - Drying facilities & wet room Whether your dog is a natural water baby, a little nervous around water or has a tonne of energy that needs a new creative output, we welcome all breeds and ages to give it a go! It is a fun and brilliant form of exercise which works on building even muscle mass and tone, whilst reducing joint and muscle strain due to the water’s buoyancy and reduced weight load. This makes swimming ideal for maintaining the fitness levels of working, show, and performance dogs. Swimming is well known for being one of the healthiest exercises a dog can take part in. Hydrotherapy provides an excellent, safe method of low-impact workouts to over-weight animals, Together we can develop and maintain muscle tone, increase mobility, as well as overall fitness and stamina.
