Developing the world's first inflatable waterwheel. - Hydrowheel emphasises lower costs, durability, easy installation and continuous power production rather than prioritising efficiency. This will produce a faster return on investment in wetter, less sunny climates like Scotland but also a more accessible electricity source in emerging markets with less developed infrastructure. Hydrowheel is as tough as a RIB or inflatable raft but also compact and easily transported. Being inflatable, it floats supporting its own weight, tethered across streams and rivers and requires no expensive supporting structure or water channels to be built. This produces less damage to the local ecosystem. It also allows Hydrowheel to be much larger - made from modular sections linked together, allowing it to stretch across the whole river, even as the stream width changes with the season. This ensures Hydrowheel can harvest more energy from a broader section of the stream and be more cost effective. Traditional "run of river" waterwheels and turbines do not scale in the same way so are rarely viable
