About HYELM

HYELM is a friendly, not-for-profit landlord which has had a positive impact on young people’s lives for nearly 100 years, by addressing the shortage of affordable housing for those working in London. It is the only organisation in London that specifically offers accommodation to young people, many of whom are key workers, in entry-level employment. HYELM strives to offer a refreshingly fair, open and transparent deal for young Londoners navigating their way through the Capital’s challenging housing market. The current flagship residence, HYELM - Old Street, was opened in 2008 and provides 125 young workers who cannot afford to rent or buy properties through the private sector, with contemporary, secure, hassle-free accommodation. From 2021, HYELM is set to continuing its drive to meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the Capital by delivering on ambitious plans to develop an additional property to its portfolio in the vibrant and emerging regeneration area of Colindale, North London.
