I + I was founded by two women seeking to change the way we not only view beauty products, but how we view ourselves. Jennifer Culpepper, Founder and Chief Creative of Brand Joint, develops big picture strategy and oversees the brand portfolios for global cannabis and hemp companies. She has over 20 years of experience designing successful consumer brands through smart brand strategy and creative design solutions. Raised in East Africa, Selam Kelati draws inspiration from effective natural remedies that her family weaved into daily life including cooking, medicine, and cosmetics. Selam brings her wealth of knowledge about herbal and homeopathic ingredients like moringa oil and prickly pear seed oil to the table. All busy, working mothers, the women behind I + I identified a need for effortless, trustworthy products that fit seamlessly into a demanding lifestyle. Although all their friends and co-workers have different skin and hair types, they all wanted one thing: time dedicated to self-love and self-care. Our hectic schedules and competing priorities can be overwhelming so finding the time to research the latest beauty products or follow YouTube tutorials of multi-step skincare routines seems nearly impossible. However, by taking the time to care for ourselves both mentally and physically, we are able to be the best version of ourselves - radiating joy and positivity to the world. Combining the duo's talents, knowledge and expertise, the vision for I + I was born — fusing lab-made ingredients with whole plant material to formulate effective products perfect for "me time"!
