About I-Jazz

I-Jazz, the national association that brings together some of Italy's best known and most followed jazz festivals, was formed on February 1, 2008. It was created to promote the meeting and comparison of the Italian jazz community and to date associates more than 80 festivals. The association's main objective is the dissemination of jazz-related projects: from festivals that take place in the winter period in theaters, to circuits that unite various cities on a regional or provincial basis, to summer festivals based in evocative and prestigious venues. The I-Jazz initiative takes its start from the need to establish a point of reference for activities that in recent years have expanded significantly-both in terms of the potential of artistic creativity and public attention-but need to express projects of greater national visibility involving musicians and operators, contributing to the commitment to a reform of music that is truly open to all quality content. The I-Jazz Association works in close contact with the most representative instances of the jazz world, it is the founder of the Federazione il Jazz Italiano chaired by Ada Montellanico and with which it carries out synergic projects and a member of Europe Jazz Network, the prestigious European organization composed of the main festivals and jazz subjects with which collaborations aimed at the mobility of artists, the presentation of innovative projects, and the formation of shared experiences for the growth of the jazz phenomenon are active.
