About Ibraaz London
A brave space for art, culture, and ideas from the Global Majority, opening 15 October 2025 in the heart of London. Ibraaz brings together exhibitions, a library, café, bookshop, editorial, and a vibrant public programme, creating a dynamic hub for exchange and reflection. Founded by the Kamel Lazaar Foundation in 2011 as an online platform dedicated to visual arts and culture from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Ibraaz has since evolved into a fully integrated creative institution. Our mission is to amplify the voices of artists, writers, and thinkers, fostering transformative conversations, cross-disciplinary collaborations, and new approaches to publishing. Rooted in the philosophies of North Africa—and named after the Arabic word meaning “to shine a light on”—Ibraaz champions debate over dogma, belonging over exclusion, and enquiry over assumption. With empathy and respect at its core, it seeks to illuminate the lived experience and open up space for resonant voices to be heard beyond frontiers.
