Our printing plates are produced without the use of chemicals, the image being created by laser diodes, rather than the old method of exposure to UV light and then developed with chemicals. This means there is no waste film, chemicals or contaminated water for the environment to deal with and the aluminium plates are recycled. Bio inks or vegetable oil based ink are used wherever they are compatible with the required materials. All waste inks and tins are collected by a specialist waste control company and are treated in compliance with the 1990 Environmental Protection Act and all relevant legislation. We also endeavour to use recycled and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certificated paper and board whenever possible. Recycled material is not always the most cost effective option when producing printed items and for this reason we allow our customers to make that decision based on their budget for the job. All of our paper waste is collected for recycling, amounting to in excess of six tonnes per year!
