About Ica Maxi
ICA MAXI (Established as MAXI) was the store format with its own non-food departments which was established as MAXI in 1985 by Per W. Madsen with the first store located at Skårer in Lørenskog. MAXI was acquired by Hakon Gruppen AS (ICA) in 1997. MAXI changed its name to ICA MAXI in the summer of 2005. The concept was based on goods such as books, clothes, household appliances, simple electronics, kitchen utensils, etc. ICA Norway closed its ICA MAXI stores in 2012, with the exception of one (ICA MAXI, Porsgrunn ), which was closed down in the New Year 2015/2016.
