About Icha Tea

ICHA TEA is a brand that draws its name from the Chinese name YI CHA JIAN (一茶间) which means One Tea Space. It's from the phrase "一期一会，一茶一坐" (yi qi yi hui, yi cha yi zuo), which means "one time, one meeting, one tea, one seat." At ICHA TEA, we believe in the importance of cherishing each moment and every encounter, which is why we have incorporated this philosophy into our brand name. We want to create a space where people can come together, enjoy a cup of tea, and make meaningful connections with one another, all while savouring the unique taste and aroma of our premium teas. Established in 2016 by Xing Su and Sijian Chen, ICHA TEA was born out of the desire to provide traditional tea/Gongfu tea in Toronto. In 2017, the physical location was launched, making it one of the small businesses in Toronto Chinatown. Our goal at ICHA TEA is to offer the younger generation in North America with natural and high-quality pure-leaf tea, and we believe that this can help bridge the gap between Eastern and Western cultures. We source our tea from various tea plantations and manufacturers across China. To ensure that the premium tea we serve is of the highest quality, our team travels to different regions where various types of tea originate. We thoroughly screen and taste the finest teas with the assistance of tea masters, so that our customers can indulge in a truly authentic and enjoyable tea experience.
