Icon Fruit is a stone fruit export specialist, a joint venture between Cape Fresh Produce and the Unlimited Group. Cape Fresh Produce consists of a dynamic team of three experienced fruit producers and marketers based in the Cape. With Stefan du Plessis as the Founder and Director, Lohan Marais as the Managing Director. Since 1991, Unlimited Group has been growing, packing and exporting fresh produce. They focus on vertical integration between production, marketing, intellectual property and logistic investment. Hans Muylaert-Gelein is currently leading The Unlimited Group. Icon Fruit aims to produce and supply the highest quality stone fruit, bringing together traditional varieties with new designer cultivars of Cherry plums, flavour burst pluots, Flavor Fall, apricots, peaches, cherries and nectarines. Our farms in South Africa are geographically diverse, ensuring a consistent and dependable supply. The shareholders of Icon Fruit are at the forefront of variety research and development. This is achieved by using the best research and technology methods in the industry. Bringing flavoursome and healthy fruit to our customers will continue to drive our innovation strategy. In addition, Icon Fruit represents the best stone fruit breeding programs available in South Africa. Our farms, strategic grower-partners and packhouses are carefully selected for their commitment to quality and sustainability. Long-term relationships and the well-being of all stakeholders is key to us as a business. The Icon team focuses on adding value back to the tree and “forward” by adding value to the customer. We are especially focused on cost savings by leveraging our economies of scale and using technology to increase our control over the cold chain to ensure a dependable quality.
