About ICR Ophthalmology Centre
ICR Ophthalmology Centre is a medical and surgical ophthalmology centre with over 30 years of experience whose mission is the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control of diseases of the eyes, visual system and ocular adnexa. ICR group is made up of over 300 professionals. Medical personnel, including more than 90 ophthalmologists, are organized into various subspecialties, represented by corresponding departments and units. ICR provides comprehensive eye care services ranging from consultations to surgical interventions, across all ophthalmic specialties. The centre has the latest technology for diagnostic tests and laser procedures available, but also for surgical and treatment procedures, and a 24-hour eye emergency service. ICR has at its disposal a team of distinguished professionals with extensive experience and the ability to manage the most complex cases. Besides, ICR has a Research Department that has placed the center among the top centers in ophthalmology field. It is one of the few centres accredited by the prestigious European Vision Institute (EVI) to conduct international clinical research trials, whose aim is to promote and ease top-quality and high rigour research in ophthalmologogy. Teaching is a key element at ICR and has a long tradition. Over time, this has led to consolidation of medicosurgical ophthalmology masters programmes, the training of resident doctors and the teaching of future physicians at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. This in combination with continuing education, care protocols, conferences and weekly clinical meetings translate into the best possible care for our patients.
