About Ideas For Independent Living
As the sibling of a special needs child, I grew up knowing the unique challenges that families with special needs face. After 20 years as a designer/machinist with Ontario Hydro and the passing of my sister, I decided to turn my efforts towards helping similar families and individuals. In 1990 I left Ontario Hydro to become a Rehabilitation Technician at Hugh Macmillan Children’s Center. In 2000 my long-time friend and fellow machinist, John Kupers and I started IDEAS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING INC. Providing expertise and compassion to those we serve is the driving force of IDEAS. Ideas for Independent Living is a company devoted to helping people with physical disabilities regain independence in day to day life. Experts in assistive and rehabilitative technology such as wheelchair mounting, and Access Technology, they pride themselves in offering tailor made and high-quality ability products.
