About IdenCity, transforming cities
IdenCity was founded in October 2011 with a clear mission: Assisting cities and other urban regions to initiate and develop the long road toward competitiveness and sustainability, in order to achieve increasing levels of quality of life for their citizens and the rest of urban participants. Private firms use the theory and practice of strategic planning to be aware of how to compete. They analyze who they are to identify their competitive (what they do well) and comparative (relative to others) advantages in competitive environments; they build a vision toward which to orient, they define strategic actions to align their current position with the vision, and, finally, they manage the strategic actions in order to be properly implemented. Does it not make sense for cities or other urban settings to do the same? If cities are engaged in global dynamics that affect their economic development, would it not make sense to analyze what they are, where they want (and can) be, and how? Which factors make up the rules of competition in cities? What makes a city more competitive than other? Which factors determine local, and not national, economic growth? To answer all of these questions and many more, IdenCity provides a set of solutions, services and products aimed at facilitating the search process toward the sustainable identity of urban spaces.
