Idris Consulting Limited offers independent, high quality research and consultancy services in both the education and environmental sectors and is operated by Richard and Jane Poole. Jane is a Chartered Geologist with more than 25 years experience. Jane provides specialist geological and geomorphological expertise to central government departments, local planning authorities, mineral operators, developers and research organisations both within the UK and more recently overseas. She has acted as an expert witness. Richard has been engaged with the vocational training and higher education (HE) sectors for over 20 years. His skills and knowledge spans the spectrum including: qualification design; assessment and quality assurance protocol development; partnership due diligence; and, negotiation. Richard has supported private and alternative HE colleges, universities and awarding bodies both within the UK and overseas, all operating within highly regulated environments. Idris has meaning (in both Arabic and Welsh) of learning, interpretation and longevity. In providing our services, we aim to thoroughly research and understand our remit to provide clear information that can be acted upon by our clients and decision-makers. Cadair Idris in mid-Wales (Richard’s homeland) was also the first 'proper' mountain we climbed together with our family.
