About IEC Northern Ohio

IEC Northern Ohio is a non-profit association representing independent electrical contractors in the greater Cleveland area. Established in 1964 as the Northern Ohio Electrical Contractors Association (NOECA), the organization became affiliated with the national Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) network nearly three decades ago. This partnership has enhanced its ability to provide members with comprehensive educational programs, safety initiatives, and strong legislative advocacy. We are committed to promoting responsible, independent, and dedicated electricians through: Nationally Recognized Apprenticeship Programs: Our four-year, federally registered apprenticeship combines 144 hours of classroom instruction annually with 2,000 hours of on-the-job training, covering essential topics like electrical theory, safety (OSHA 10 & 30), and CPR. IEC Northern Ohio Educational Opportunities: Members have access to free and discounted Continuing Education Units (CEUs), specialized training through manufacturer partnerships, and safety training. IEC Northern Ohio Legislative Advocacy: We actively represent the interests of independent electrical contractors at local, state, and national levels, ensuring a favorable environment for merit-shop businesses.
