About IELS Malta - Institute of English Language Studies
“Our mission is to provide the perfect environment for our students to learn and practise English while enjoying the climate, traditions and culture of our country. Serious study and great fun, in other words." The Institute of English Language Studies (IELS) was founded over 35 years ago as a joint venture between the FTI Group GmbH and the Mizzi Organisation. IELS is accredited by the Ministry of Education and is a founding member of FELTOM as well as being a full member of ALTO. IELS Ltd is affiliated with the University of Cambridge as an ESOL teacher training centre and is the only school in Malta that offers both Cambridge ESOL CELTA and DELTA teacher training courses, two of the most sought after and distinguished qualifications that an English language teacher can attain. Having a worldwide market presence, IELS offers over 20 various types of English Language course and employs around 150 highly qualified teachers. The school welcomes students from over 40 different countries and operates a modern, all year round school and Head Office in Sliema, a summer centre for Young Learners, as well as a boutique school and residence in Gozo. IELS owns and operates the Day’s Inn Hotel & Residence, a newly refurbished three star hotel situated in the heart of Sliema. IELS offers various ancillary services for students such as Accommodation (including Hotels, Host Families, Apartments and Hostels). Other services include transport (taxi, coach, and minivan transfers), leisure (excursions, sports, guided tours etc.), customer care, a dedicated 24-hour emergency call service, as well as work placements.
