IHP Italian Horse Protection Onlus, ispirata ai valori del rispetto e della compassione, nasce per tutelare e proteggere i cavalli e gli altri equidi e per restituire loro dignità e libertà. IHP lavora affinché il cavallo, ancora oggi tra gli animali più sfruttati e senza alcun riconoscimento giuridico, da oggetto utilizzato e sfruttato, diventi soggetto portatore di diritti fondamentali. IHP gestisce il primo Centro di recupero in Italia per equidi maltrattati e sottoposti a sequestro (L.189 del 2004), riconosciuto con Decreto dal Ministero della Salute nel 2009. Tra i principali obiettivi di IHP, il miglioramento della qualità di vita dei cavalli; il salvataggio e il recupero di equidi maltrattati; il contrasto agli abusi e ai maltrattamenti e la promozione dei diritti degli equini attraverso un cambiamento normativo e culturale. Italian Horse Protection, inspired by the values of respect and compassion, exists to protect and safeguard horses and other equids and to return to them their dignity and freedom. Equines are still among the most exploited animals, with no legal status in their own right. IHP works unremittingly to win fundamental rights for them. IHP runs Italy’s first Rescue Center for equids, who are legally seized because of mistreatment (Law 189/2004). The Center was recognized by a Ministry of Health Decree in 2009. IHP principle objectives are improving the lives of horses lives; rescuing and rehabilitating abused and mistreated equines; opposing their abuse and mistreatment and promotion of equine rights through changing laws and cultural attitudes.
