Ilhabela Holdings (dba Melissa Shoes USA) under the leadership of Michele Levy, built the Melissa Shoes brand in the US and Caribbean from obscurity to market leadership. We operated 12 owned stores, our own e-commerce, an Amazon shop, and more than 1,200 wholesale doors. We broke ground with the Mini Melissa brand, introducing a whole new category to the market and grew into what it is today. We introduced collaborations including Jason Wu, and launched a diffusion line, Mel by Melissa, which had its debut with a global collaboration with Forever 21. After many rewarding years, Michele exited Ilhabela to focus on building other consumer good brands in 2021.
