imagine if instigates active change in peoples lives through arts-based interventions, workshops and productions. People with experience of the care system and criminal justice system are at the forefront of our work. imagine if aims to actively improve disadvantaged people’s lives through arts-based interventions, workshops and productions. Over the last nine years we have worked predominantly with prisoners and people with convictions who have a range of disadvantages including mental health issues, homelessness, victims of abuse, low literacy levels, unemployment and low socio-economic backgrounds. “Two of the men are on my caseload and I observed them in a completely different environment and saw how intelligent and proactive they both were. Whilst rehabilitation is important, prevention is key to tackling the UK prison crisis. From 2024, we will use our vast experience of working with prisoners/people with convictions to focus on engaging with and enacting progressive change in the lives of young people aged 16-25 with lived experience of the care system. We have toured seven live/digital productions to 66 prisons/theatres/community centres, reaching over 17,000 people, raising awareness of issues that have an impact on offending behaviour, including domestic abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder. “In our group we had clients who have had adverse childhood experiences.
