About IMAGINE... The Impossible For Every Child

IMAGINE... The Impossible Learning and Training Dance Center (IMAGINE...) is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization with a mission to empower children at or below the poverty level with the highest level of artistic excellence through professional classical ballet training. IMAGINE... is about a transformational change; breaking poverty cycles of underrepresented and economically disadvantaged children thus reducing crime, while uplifting the community life of our students and their communities. We achieve this change not solely through the highest caliber of professional classical ballet training, followed by the exposure to travel, theater, opera, museums and The Symphony. Ballet is the tool we use to capture the student’s attention and in the educational process, their minds become open to learning. Now they are able to transfer the skills they learned through the ballet into higher levels of thinking, along with problem solving ability. They master their academics because their perception, imagination and creativity has changed, this is followed by positive behaviors and attitudes. Now our students communication, social, and verbal skills are all strengthened – benefiting themselves and their community. IMAGINE... students are resilient. Many of our students come from extremely difficult and challenging situations - a lot of stress, trauma and tragedy. Imagine teachers our students that they must stay focus along with the ability to adapt quickly to these adverse emotional situations. Here again, through the discipline of the ballet our students emerge to become more confident and courageous individuals – again effecting, benefiting and bringing change to their immediate families and their community.
