About IMEM-CNR

L’Istituto dei Materiali per l’Elettronica e il Magnetismo (IMEM) è parte del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR). Questo istituto è attivo dal 2001 ed è nato dalla fusione tra diverse realtà, la più rilevante delle quali era MASPEC, Istituto Materiali Speciali per Elettronica e Magnetismo. L’Istituto ha la sua sede principale a Parma, e due sedi secondarie, una a Genova, presso il Dipartimento di Fisica dell’Università, e una a Trento, presso la Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK). L’Istituto ha attivato inoltre una Unità presso il ChiLab del Politecnico di Torino. IMEM afferisce al Dipartimento di Ingegneria, ICT e Tecnologie per l’Energia e i Trasporti (DIITET) del CNR. IMEM svolge tradizionalmente ricerche nell’ambito della scienza dei materiali e in particolare di: • materiali per elettronica, principalmente ossidi e semiconduttori su varie scale dimensionali, dai cristalli massivi, ai film sottili, fino alle nanostrutture; • materiali magnetici e multiferroici come materiali magnetici e nanostrutture “rare-earth free”, film e nanostrutture basate su leghe di Heusler, materiali multiferroici ottenuti ad altissima pressione, nanostrutture magnetiche e magnetoplasmoniche; • quantum materials, tra cui materiali 2D e quantum dots di semiconduttori; • materiali organici ed ibridi, film di composti organici, film di perovskiti organometalliche, sviluppo di transistor elettrochimici organici (OECT) su substrati convenzionali o su tessile; • funzionalizzazione e studio di superfici, funzionalizzazione e caratterizzazione in situ di materiali 2D e nanostrutture.
