About Immersion Africa
University --> Faculty-Directed / Service Learning / Study Abroad We at Immersion Africa design and facilitate faculty-directed educational experiences in Southern and Eastern Africa. The aim of our programs is to give students a broadened global outlook and heightened cross-cultural sensitivities. We feel that travel relates to building social relationships, opportunities to learn and grow, and commitment. It gives one the chance to be truly engaged in an activity, to develop new skills and to discover new cultures. It brings one closer to themselves and others, through giving us new perspectives and a broadened global outlook. The team at Immersion Africa is one that is passionate about sustainable growth and well-being of its communities and the environment. This is demonstrated through our Enriching Educational Experiences. Each member of Immersion Africa brings something special to the team so that each study abroad program is unique and well thought out to ensure that each student experiences meaningful transformation. Over the course of two to six weeks, students work alongside their host community on various hands on projects which aim to stimulate personal growth and contribute positively to the local communities.
