Founded in 1932, Imperial positions itself as the leading Portuguese chocolate manufacturer, owner of the main national brands: Regina, Jubileu, Pintarolas and Pantagruel, with a strong presence in the main chocolate segments, such as Slabs/Countlines, Nuts, Dragees, Figures, Cooking and Pralines. The company has been developing its international position by marketing its brands in different countries. It is currently present in more than 50 countries in Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia. Product innovation is a strategic priority namely in specialized market segments. Today Imperial has a wide range of solutions to meet specific requirements. Our factories are gluten free, and we also provide other solutions: No Added Sugar, Reduced Sugar, Vegan, + Protein, Kosher and Halal. The Production sites have the latest technology with recent investments in chocolate Slabs/countlines but also in a third plant for chocolate dragees. Ongoing improvement and the excellence of our quality and food safety management systems have long been one of the company’s strategic options and are present in its certifications, namely International Featured Standards (IFS), UTZ, Fairtrade, Organic, Kosher and Halal. Imperial is also certified by Walmart, the largest retailer in the world within the “Walmart Responsible Sourcing Audit" and the “Walmart Supply Chain Security Audit". Through Contract Manufacturing business, Imperial works with its clients in the development and production of their own brands and products. The outstanding results it has achieved, clearly show the good performance by Imperial’s brands in the Portuguese chocolate market. Regina is the leader in the chocolate-covered nuts segment and Jubileu holds a prominent position. Regina is also in second place in chocolate figures and chocolate bars in the impulse channel, due to the excellent performance of its chocolate umbrellas and fruit-flavoured bars.
