About In My Shoes
In My Shoes is a 501(c)3 organization located in Dallas, Texas. The mission of In My Shoes is to provide a safe, welcoming community for pregnant women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We empower women to learn and develop the life, job, and parenting skills necessary to live a healthy and complete life - for the good of themselves and for their babies. We provide the services, tools, and support to transform lives and families. We are currently looking for staff members to be a part of our Residential Core Team. Please contact love@liveinmyshoes.org for more information. About Us In My Shoes is the only community living program in Dallas that provides support specifically geared towards pregnant homeless women - while offering life, parenting, and job skills. This program was created by those who have walked a mile in the shoes of the less fortunate. Our staff simply wants to give back to the community while explicitly supporting life and families in need – mothers, fathers, and babies. In My Shoes accomplishes this through offering our guests the opportunity to learn valuable life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and caring for oneself, while also ensuring that every expectant or new mother has the necessary parenting skills and resources available to care for her child. What We Provide In My Shoes provides for the immediate physical and emotional needs of expectant mothers including shelter, food, clothing, and a supportive community. In addition, In My Shoes will offer various resources to directly support the development of the mothers. Programs include: · Emergency Housing · Individual and group therapy · Food and clothing assistance · Parenting and life skills curriculum and presentations · Community involvement · Goal setting and reward program · Work and school support
