About INclusion Worldwide

INclusion promotes a new approach to development cooperation, placing power and responsibility in the hands of the recipients. We do this by providing an unconditional monthly cash amount for seven years. This gives people living in poverty a real chance and time to build a better future. In 2020, we started the first project in the village of Welle in Uganda, giving all 400 residents 15 euros per month. As of this update (October 2024), it has been over 4 years. The results are very positive, as shown by research from the University of Groningen: poverty has significantly decreased, more children are attending school, and there have been investments in better housing, livestock, farmland, and small businesses. Optimism about the future has increased. What’s unique about the project in Welle is the ‘community fund’: Welle's residents receive 10% of the money collectively and decide together how to spend it. Their first investment was in two water wells, providing everyone in the village with access to clean drinking water without having to walk for hours.
