The story of Meter Defender and Incoho Advanced Technologies (“IAT”) is one that many start-ups dream of. Three years ago, the PECO Energy Company (“PECO”) started a project in their Innovation Group to solve a persistent problem faced by Revenue Protection teams every day—asset security and safety issues around meter tampering and theft. PECO engaged Incoho’s sister software company, Crew Beacon, to design the Meter Defender software platform. Once successfully field tested, PECO again turned to Incoho, licensing the technology for commercialization. Incoho Advanced Technologies was born. Incoho has 15 years of consulting in the utility sector and developing technologies based on the challenges our clients deal with every day. Our deep understanding of the unique operational and financial challenges found in the utility sector allows us to quickly and nimbly work with clients to maximize the impact of Meter Defender, integrating the core functions and processes where it can have the highest impact. The Meter Defender platform can work with any type of sensor to connect and monitor field assets. While Meter Defender may be Incoho’s first IoT product, we are already working on new use cases and getting requests to develop products with other sensors.
