About Independent Doctors Federation
The Independent Doctors’ Federation (IDrF) represents doctors in private practice through education, networking, appraisal, revalidation and regulatory advice. With 1500+ members the IDrF is the UK’s leading independent doctors’ organisation and our mission is to promote excellence in the Independent Medical Sector. We are recognised as the nationwide voice of independent doctors in all matters relating to private medicine, their education and revalidation. The IDrF offers an appraisal and revalidation service modelled on the NHS system which is recognised by the GMC. We are CHKS accredited and the scheme we offer has been found to be comprehensive, robust and designed to facilitate the process of medical appraisal and revalidation We also run a comprehensive calendar of education events which count towards Academy of Medical Royal Colleges minimum 50 hours accreditation. The IDrF is a valuable resource to our many members, connecting them online through the members’ forum and off line through our many events. It is a valuable source of advice, support, networking and shared problem-solving for the many doctors who are interesting in developing their private practice.
