About Independent Lifestyles
Independent Lifestyles, Inc. - A Center for Independent Living "A team promoting independence and choices for people with disabilities, their families, and communities." Independent Lifestyles is dedicated to working with persons of all disabilities to ensure that they are living as independently as possible. There are many different programs offered to assist our consumers in a variety of areas. The Independent Living Skills Program is designed to assist people with disabilities in learnin new and healthy independent living skills. The Information and Referral Program provides up-to-date information about disability and available services with an extensive library of disablity related information about accessibility laws, rules and regulations. The Peer Mentoring Program is about people with disabilities serving as role models for others with disabilities in both a one-to-one and group setting. The Accessibility Program offers accessibility assistance to consumers to become more independent in their homes, vehicles and the community. Independent Lifestyles also offers a PCA (Personal Care Attendant) Choice program that allows the person needing PCA's to manage their own cares. They will be in charge of the hiring, firing, training and supervision of their PCA's with Independent Lifestyles acting as the fiscal intermediary.
