About Indie Film
Indie Film OSLO - BERGEN is proud to be considered one of the leading documentary production companies in Norway. We specialise in personal and challenging documentary films and series with strong visual identities, exploring a reality that never ceases to amaze us. Our main focus is international feature documentaries and high-end documentary series. Indie Film was established in 1998 in Oslo. Our team includes eight employees, including several producers, in-house directors and distributors, as well as a network of freelancers, allowing us to cover almost all aspects in filmmaking, from development to release. March 2023 Producer Thorvald Nielsen started the company Indie Film Bergen, with the ambition to build an exciting home for the strongest storytellers and projects in Norway’s second largest city, Bergen. We also have our own distribution arm; Indie Film Distribution, led by distributor Nora Bremer Øvrebø. Indie Film is a certified Eco-Lighthouse company. We use a managing system to provide us with tools to evaluate and measure our environmental footprint in every production and in the organization of our company. It also structures our management to ensure efficiency, safety, and health Our recent productions include THE LIONS BY THE RIVER TIGRIS (2025, Zaradasht Ahmed), FATHERHOOD (2025, Even Benestad&August B.
