About Indus Space

Welcome to Indus Space WHERE YOU EXPLORE EARTH AND BEYOND We are a Canadian-based social enterprise that raises the profile around space exploration and its connections to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) sectors. Our audiences are often youth (K-12), educators, and the general public. Our mission is to provide youth with all tools and access to gaining skills and active immersive learning opportunities in the space sector and to foster capacity-building opportunities that inspire and enable youth to contribute as the next generation of the Canadian STEAM workforce. Although we are located in the Greater Toronto Area, we are prepared to go where educators and learners are. If you are interested in delivering STEAM education to your community, we have pre-designed content but we can also create content based on your needs. Our programs are typically events, workshops, after-school programming, and virtual camps. In this process, our audience gets to meet several professionals from both the space and STEAM sectors and gain hands-on learning experiences that are space-themed. As a social enterprise, we work towards fulfilling several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, such as: 1) Promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. 2) Aiming to achieve gender equality and empowering all women and girls. 3) Promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth through full and productive employment and decent work for all. 4) Reducing inequality within and among countries. Indus Space was started by @BhairaviShankar, a space scientist and STEM professional.
