Our technology is based on a mathematical breakthrough which allows us to control the grid risk in real-time. We connect to the grid's Scada system or a digital twin of the grid and take into account all production/consumption changes, statistical failure rates of the grid components and apply this to a model of the power system. We also look at weather data, lightning data, wildfires, animal migration data and integrate it with other data sources such as DLR. It's an exact method and we retain all information. The impact is that we are able to, with high accuracy, control the grid's system risk. This allows us to coordinated security assessment and risk management including grid failures up to 48 hours in advance. We present a list contingecy list and help grid operators run scenarios to find the optimal solution. This is only possible if you are able to calculate the effect of all these scenarios on the fly with a high accuracy real-time solution like ours. Controlling the system risk of the grid in real-time also allows for grid operators to use available excess capacity (n-1) by quantifying the risk on system level. Higher risk taking would typically lead to excess usage of the components. We help prevent this by keeping usage of grid components within physical operational limits as designed by the manufacturers. The software uses these historical events to get better and better predictions as time elapse. Furthermore our technology combines these probabilistic (not deterministic) risk estimates with the cost of running the grid. This allows the solution to be used as a "planning tool" to for planned grid upgrades, while minimizing the risk in grid developments while maintaining a maximum economical profit. The solution is 100% software based and there's no hardware involved.
