Inform Evaluation & Research is a consulting business focused on providing outcomes-based program evaluation and education research services to learning organizations who engage people with science and the environment. Now, more than ever, we are in need of a scientifically and conservation literate society. Just 5% of learning about science during one’s lifetime takes place in schools. That means that 95% of what people learn and know about science and, by extension, the environment comes from people, places and experiences outside of formal school classrooms. These sources of informal learning are truly the places where people connect to nature, learn about science, engage in inquiry, and come face to face with scientific phenomena and the environment. Institutions such as zoos, museums, aquariums and science centers play a critical role in creating a scientific and environmentally literate society.
