About Informatics Studio

Informatics Studio is a communications research, human centered design and technology collaborative founded by a former professor of design at Carnegie Mellon University. With research interests in visual communications and computer interface design, the firm has two practice areas: 1. Human Centered Design (HCD) and Tactical Innovation ----------------------------------- Systems thinking is at the core of our HCD and Tactical Innovation practice. It serves as an evidence-based framework for understanding all variables and conditions that impact outcomes and maps the relationships between program stakeholders and the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. It guides our design and development of technologies that streamline operations, strengthen management and measurement systems, support learning and collaboration, and deliver critical information, when and where it’s needed. Interdisciplinary collaboration with our design and development team is structured to efficiently progress through phases of system mapping and evaluation, to program visioning, strategy, architecture, comprehensive design, and technology development. 2. Communications Research, Design and Visual Messaging ----------------------------------- We understand how people interact with and respond to visual information. Our sophisticated visual communications design experts create world class branding and marketing communications, complex information design, behavior change communications, instructional design, and creative direction for websites, web and mobile applications, and corporate communications of all types.
