About Initiative for Representation in Nursing - Auburn University
IRN aims to ensure the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups in nursing. We are doing this through community outreach, intercultural training, and professional development opportunities. -Community Outreach: Members will be provided volunteer opportunities and a platform to speak to kids interested in a career in nursing at events such as school career fairs. -Intercultural Training: Members will hear from a diverse group of their educators and peers to better understand their experiences and how to be an ally. -Professional Development: IRN hosts seminars on topics such as interview preparedness, professional attire, and graduate school opportunities. Along with attending these events, members will also have the opportunity to network with nurses across different specialties to better understand their own career opportunities.
