Can I tell you the story of Innate? It was a late evening in mid-January, I had just arrived home from work and was in the middle of “doom scrolling” with poor posture on the couch. I received a phone call from a friend once again proposing that we start a business, one focused on a app model that would allow patients to carry their medical information with them across different chiropractic care offices and include a directory with vast medical knowledge. Little did I know that one conversation would change the rest of my life. Within a month the app did not seem feasible, and all efforts came to a stand-still. A few more weeks passed and suddenly everything was different, I had a new burning desire, a passion, a purpose. Working every night on the original project gave me a reason to live. After some thought, the aspect I was most excited about launching within the app was the “retreat” feature. And BOOM, light bulb moment, I was willing to do whatever it took beyond all odds to make this new dream a reality. Fast forward to today, I put in my two weeks to a stable and supportive company end of May and signed up for a Business Entrepreneur Certification at LCCC. After various part-time positions and countless hurdles, my mindset has wavered multiple times; but my dedication and resilience reminded me why the business model I am looking to create is so important.
