About InnerDigenous

Becoming innerdigenous is key to solving the environmental crises we face. We’re here to help you take the first steps on an exciting journey that will lead to personal and planetary wellbeing. This is an entirely new way of engaging with issues such as climate change and biodiversity loss and all it requires of you is a desire to connect to the wild that exists within, and around, you. Although you might not know it, every environmental crisis stems from a separation between the human and more-than-human worlds – a separation that occurred, during the modern period, when our inner worlds were removed from the wild worlds they used to inhabit. Throughout much of human history the inner and outer wild coexisted - for our ancestors, animism was almost universal, and the inner and outer worlds were connected through beliefs and practices which created a resonant continuum that linked human and more-than-human lives. We are at a point in human history where we need, once again, to imbed our inner worlds in a wild outer; to do this we have to undergo a process that makes us innerdigenous. To facilitate this process, we have developed a unique immersive, experiential journey called: 'The Five Fires of Connection'. It uses 'Earth Based Wisdom' (EBW) to bring theories and practices of deep connection - to place and self - into peoples’ daily lives so that they can, once again, become innerdigenous. All of our offerings occur around the hearth for it is here that stories, wisdom, and knowledge have been shared throughout much of human history. From hearth comes: hear, heart, Earth, art – the four words that describe our modes of engagement and around which our pedagogy has been created.
