About InnoMedica Holding
InnoMedica is a Swiss pharmaceutical company and established player in nanomedicine that is developing a new generation of nanomedicines through an innovative nanotransport system. With the first application of nanocarriers in the field of oncology, InnoMedica intends to develop an optimized chemotherapy for cancer patients. That should reduce side effects to a minimum while maintaining good efficacy. The strategy is to develop and commercialize novel therapeutics for the treatment of tumor diseases. This new generation of chemotherapeutics uses cytostatic drugs already in common use in a new galenic form in cancer therapy. Another application of nanocarriers is being developed in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and ALS. For this purpose, InnoMedica has optimized the nanocarrier used to overcome the blood-brain barrier and used GM1 as a regenerative active ingredient. For this approach, InnoMedica has been granted orphan drug status by the FDA, EMA, and Swissmedic for use in ALS. InnoMedica is an independent, equity-financed Swiss pharmaceutical company with its nanofactory in the canton of Fribourg.
