About Innovate Living-Learning Community at Virginia Tech
Innovation is the core of what we do here at Virginia Tech. This is apparent in our approach to entrepreneurship. We give students the tools and skills they need to be successful in whatever career path they choose but always with the Innovation mindset at the forefront. Innovate Living Learning Community approaches entrepreneurship by providing a space for learning, collaboration, and creativity through transdisciplinary experiential programming. Students from all backgrounds and interests commit to live in the Creativity and Innovation District for one academic year and take part in entrepreneurship training, workshops, treks, mentorship, and more. Innovate provides a safe space to explore the idea of entrepreneurship by working in teams, developing solutions to problems, innovating on ideas, and then launching… with success or by failing fast and moving forward. Innovate also provides access to resources which are not widely available to others such as our Fireside Chats where we invite amazing CEOS and Founders to speak to our group, Professional Mentors who meet with students throughout the semester, treks to start ups and corporations to see firsthand innovation in progress, and connections to internships. We see ourselves as a personal and professional student accelerator that focuses on student growth and development while investing in building skills and tools to help them succeed as business leaders and innovators for the future. Located in the Creativity and Innovation District in Fall 2021, at the heart of Virginia Tech Campus, the Innovate Living Learning Community is open to students from all majors from all colleges at Virginia Tech. The close-knit community encourages creativity, leadership, responsibility, inclusivity and diversity, building strong relationships, and is committed to a productive environment for student growth.
