About Inside Out Learners

Inside Out Learners is a Chesapeake, VA–based learning center specializing in academic tutoring, executive function coaching, and social-emotional learning for neurodivergent learners — including those with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. Founded by Certified Autism Specialist and experienced educator Terrie Livingston, our licensed teachers and specialists bring expertise in neurodiversity-affirming education, literacy instruction, and inclusive social programs. We provide personalized academic support, social connection programs, and parent/professional consultation — both in-person and virtual — designed to help learners build confidence, develop real-world social skills, and strengthen reading, writing, and math through engaging, evidence-based approaches. Our programs include 1:1 tutoring, small group sessions, Hangout Clubs, social gaming nights, and Dungeons & Dragons groups, creating safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals and all learners to explore interests, build friendships, and grow. We also offer seasonal programs, workshops, and interactive online learning opportunities for families across Virginia — and are actively expanding to serve neurodivergent learners nationwide. At Inside Out Learners, we believe in neuro-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming practices that celebrate each learner’s unique strengths and needs. By focusing on individualized instruction, emotional regulation, and relationship-based learning, we empower learners to thrive academically, socially, and personally. Mission: To empower neurodivergent learners through inclusive, confidence-building educational experiences — in-person and online — that foster lifelong growth, connection, and pride in identity.
