About Inside Outside

Inside Outside, founded by lead-designer Petra Blaisse in 1991, is a multi-disciplinary team of artists, architects, landscape architects and designers. The studio is specialized in landscape design, exhibitions, curtains, wayfinding and interior interventions and works internationally, both on private and on public projects in a variety of scales. Although interior and landscape are seen as one and inter-disciplinary collaboration is tradition at Inside Outside, the interior and landscape teams each consist of experienced professionals in the field. Their longstanding work-relationship with Blaisse and her Inside Outside studio makes that the team forms a firm base in all collaborations with third parties. The studio’s interest lies in the creation of dynamic environments; living materials, colour, light, sound and time are their tools. Through continuous learning and an insatiable creative energy, the work combines increasing technical sophistication with inventiveness; fitting each context and culture and simultaneously complementing the intent of the architect and client in question. From conceptual to definitive design, the studio works in close collaboration with architects and clients. In the following phases, Inside Outside oversees and produces technical drawings and tender documents, supervises financial offers, coordinates production and is actively involved in the installation of their works on site.
