About Inslope Learning
Inslope Learning is an education company dedicated to making arts education and hands-on-learning more engaging, inclusive, and accessible. Founded in 2018 as Donnie Welch Poetry, a company delivering accessible, interdisciplinary creative writing programs, Inslope Learning has since expanded to encompass a broader vision of experiential learning. The inspiration for the name Inslope Learning comes from founder Donnie Welch’s time as a volunteer trail worker. Incorporating this definition from trail building represents the confluence of theory and practice necessary for knowledge to stick. We believe learning is an active process—something you do, not something you passively absorb. Whether it's workshopping a poem, getting messy in a garden, or stomping along to an asynchronous lesson in rhythm, we ignite curiosity and create meaningful, lasting experiences for learners of all ages and abilities. Our services are designed to be affordable, resource-efficient, and tailored to meet the needs of both small, non-traditional educational settings and larger classrooms. Sitting at the junction of traditional pedagogy and experiential learning, we’re blazing new paths, asking: Can we develop assessments for hands-on learning in K-12 that measure progress without interfering in the joy of discovery? In adult learning spaces, can we make training modules for professional courses like OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 more intuitive and engaging? Can outdoor learning spaces like sensory gardens be designed more equitably throughout a school district? We don’t have all the answers—yet. But we’re enjoying the journey, and we hope you will too. At Inslope Learning, we’re here to help you think beyond the grade.
