About Inspirational by Design™

My name is Shannon Scandozza. I started Inspirational by Design™ in 2023 as a Professional Development consultation service offering content and instructional design, workshops, team building games, and more. My taglines “Be Inspired” or “Inspirational” are frequently used in social media to engage the community and provide uplifting, positive messages, encouragement, and support. My work history, and life’s mission, includes Clinical Simulation in Higher Education; particularly the Standardized Patient (SP) Program for Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education Programs: Medicine, Engineering Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, Audiology, Optometry, Speech Language Pathology, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Occupational Therapy, and Blindness and Low Vision Studies. During that time, I have also had the opportunity to create, curate, and supervise multiple programs for health care clients including Tele Simulation, Manikin Simulation, Physical Exam and Teaching Associate (PETA), Male Urogenital Teaching Associate (MUTA), and Gynecological Teaching Associate (GTA). I have served clients in multiple disciplines and collaborated through Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPEP) on local and regional levels including mass casualty and disaster drills. I have been a member of the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) since 2016 and served as a board member for the Online Learning and Resource Committee (OLRC). I have also been a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSiH) since 2016 and belong to the IPE Affinity Group. I have a back ground in primary and secondary education, alternative academics, social work, and non-profits. I found that by combining my talents for virtual simulation, instructional design, and education, I could provide healthcare clients with the opportunity to get private, individualized tutoring and training on-the-go, right from their phones when they need it most.
