About Institute for Private Capital
The Institute for Private Capital (IPC) was founded by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School to promote a deeper understanding of the role of private capital in the global economy. IPC focuses on building academic and industry partnerships to generate new knowledge-based on objective academic research around private capital markets. Central to this mission, IPC serves as a source of research-quality private capital databases. The IPC is composed of a global team of faculty from top universities, leading industry practitioners and key policy makers. IPC’s efforts have resulted in over 40 research projects including publications in top academic journals on topics related to private equity, real estate, hedge funds and small business investing. Completed projects are disseminated through academic publications, industry conferences, private symposiums and educational outreach in order to improve public policy and global financial decision making.
