About Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM)
The Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) at the University of North Florida was established in 1980 to provide cost-effective, cutting-edge training to the criminal justice community, to enhance the quality of service by law enforcement to our communities. IPTM has grown into the largest and most varied national law enforcement training institute in the country. IPTM conducts more than 400 courses to approx. 10,000 law enforcement professionals from across the United States, the U.S. territories, and many foreign countries each year. We deliver classroom instruction on campus in Jacksonville, online or on-site at your agency. IPTM also offers on-site contract training, which can be a cost effective means for obtaining customized instruction designed to meet your specific needs. Hosting training at your agency is another cost-saving option. Our courses are designed to improve the skills and abilities of officers and acquaint them with the new technology, theories, and techniques in their fields of interest. Classroom presentations are often coupled with practical, hands-on exercises giving students the opportunity to apply the theories and skills learned in the classroom to situations faced by today’s law enforcement agencies.
