Instituto Macrobiótico de Portugal was founded in 1985 by a common believe of sharing and developing knowledge related to health and well being, natural diet and to promote healthy and ecological lifestyles. IMP founder was Francisco and Eugénia Varatojo, becoming at that time one of the representations of Instituto Kushi - Boston. The main goal was to grant an educational resource that was lacking in Portugal. With this mission, since the beginning, IMP presented a great variety of offers in a context still shy in ecological (in relation with health), environment/surroundings and food matters. Nowadays IMP has become an international reference, offering annual courses, specific activities, seminars, workshops, residential programs and summer camps. Along these years IMP has grown with a solid experience and proactivity however without loosing its mission out of sight.
