Integrative Pediatric Health Care is an integrative, mindful, caring, and ethical client / provider partnership integrating a patient centered medical home model and draws on conventional and ancient healing traditions to promote the health, dignity and well being of each child and family member. IPHC started as a dream about 20 years ago, and became a reality in 2015. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in the state of Colorado are fortunate to practice without restriction in the Primary Care sector, yet there are few clinics independently owned and operated by NPs. Mary, Clare, and Jennifer represent the ever changing role of nurses, and with their combined experience of 60+ years have just what it takes to provide a creative, integrative, care model to meet the unique health needs of children and education and empowerment for parents. The NPs at IPHC have often experienced the struggles of traditional primary care clinics like long wait times or difficulty getting an appointment, rushing from waiting room to exam room with all of your belongings, having providers that sometimes don’t seem to listen, feeling fragmented between multiple specialists, or doctors with a one-sided approach. As mothers and nurses, Mary, Clare, and Jen set-out to overhaul this old system, with a fresh approach. By integrating conventional western medical approaches with the artistic, holistic and complementary approaches rooted in nursing, IPHC has a unique blend that fosters a partnership between patients, parents, and provider.
