About InterAgency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies
IAC - A Resource for Change. IAC was formed in 1977 by a small group of 30 non-profit agencies, mostly founded and operated by parents of children with developmental disabilities, who banded together to work with government to design, develop and operate a new, ground-breaking service system. IAC's Mission is to: Plan, coordinate and integrate these voluntary operated services in the greater New York metropolitan area. Promote public and private policies that will lead to greater opportunities for all individuals with developmental disabilities. Promote the development of sufficient and appropriate services, which will further enhance the quality of life of the individuals served by our member agencies. Provide professional training to employees of member agencies to further enhance their skills.
