About International Cool Climate Wine Show
The ICCWS is recognised as the Southern Hemispheres foremost show for inspirational cool climate wines. Many of them are from smaller vineyards where grapes are handpicked and wines handcrafted by winemakers with a passion for exploring terroir and the true expression of the grape. Each year the ICCWS attracts more than 700 wines from around the world, in 36 competition classes, including sparkling wines, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. The wines are judged by highly credentialed and experienced judges. We have introduced a trophy for the best organic / bio dynamic wine, as we have had keen interest, worldwide, for this method of production, to be judged in association with the other classes. The wines are assessed by a team of experienced and highly credentialed panel of judges, currently working within the industry, from both Australia and overseas. For winemakers, this is an opportunity to benchmark in a show where "like is judged against like"; where elegant wines with restrained fruit are seen at their best; and where diversity is encouraged and rewarded. For fine wine retailers, restaurateurs, sommeliers, wine writers, wine media, wine educators, wine students and wine enthusiasts, here is an opportunity to taste an extraordinary breadth and depth of cool climate wines, which gives great exposure and opportunities for marketing and promotion, of the wines entered. 2021 International Cool Climate Wine Show has been postponed to 2022. Due to the ever changing nature of restrictions for public events, with judges not able to come from overseas, possible issues with interstate judges requiring quarantine without warning, and possible delivery / shipping issues for wineries, it was the decision of the ICCWS Inc Committee of Management, that it was better to be safe than sorry, and postpone the 2021 event. Planning for 2022 is well under way and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in May 2022.
