About International School of Madrid

We are a family school in the heart of Madrid, and since 1971 have been offering a quality British education to children aged 2 to 18 from all over the world. Our motto is Respect, Loyalty and Friendship and these words form the foundation of everything we believe in. We are known for our child-centred approach, happy atmosphere and high standards of academic achievement. We are incredibly proud of the success that our pupils achieve, not just academically, where they outperform their UK counterparts, but also in sports and the arts. Thanks to the school’s broad and balanced curriculum and our unique mix of Advanced level British and Spanish subjects in Years 12 and 13, our students leave prepared to enter British, US and Spanish universities. But, even more importantly than that, we are proud of how well our students behave and of the good adults that they grow up to become. Our well qualified and experienced teachers follow the English National Curriculum, which means that students gain an education as if they were in a school in the UK. Classes are taught in English and delivered in the British way. The academic standard of our school is high. 100% of students that graduated in 2020 are currently at university. We recognise that each student is unique and care passionately about their social and moral development. We are committed to providing the best possible start in life for every one of our pupils. In addition to our outstanding academic record, ISM students have received 73 of Cambridge Outstanding Learner awards since they were first given out in 2009, regularly receiving more awards than any other of the 130 centres in Spain. Most recently our students have once again been given an amazing ten awards, including three for 'top in the world'!
