About International Youth Cooperation [Finland]

IYC Suomi is an NGO operating in Finland since 2015. It is a local branch of the network International Youth Cooperation, a non-governmental organisation with more than 25 years of experience and present in 12 European countries: Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. Our mission is to inspire young people to make a difference in the world through solidarity. We promote volunteerism and social participation among young people through programs to help the ones in need and working on the social development. We provide young people throughout the world opportunities to engage in helping others, encouraging service with and open mind and servant heart and fostering intercultural societal understanding through projects promoting: - Awareness: opening young people's eyes to the basic human needs of people surrounding them while inspiring a sense of personal responsability to help. - Action: participating in solving societal challenges through volunteering, social interaction, and cultural exchange initiatives that meet real social needs. - Commitment: developing and maintaining young people's growth while encouraging the dignity and freedom of all people in society. We believe that by supporting solidarity today, we build a better society for tomorrow.
